Becoming Media Literate

In this financial and econmic crisis, it seems that Internet can be used as a diversion. In fact, according to an April 2009 survey by the Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project, American people go online  to relax and take their minds off of the recession.

It appears that listening to music and watching online videos are among the most common of the activities on the Internet. Approximately one-third of online users have played online games or chatted with friends (on a social networking site).

Young Americans in particular go online in great numbers to relax by watching videos, listening to music, playing games or chatting with friends.

So in front of economic issues, people prefer to go online to relax themselves, to watch videos, play games to escape from this.
